Causeway Coast & Glens

Causeway Coast & Glens

The Causeway Coast and Glens region is one of the nine destinations identified in the draft Tourism Strategy for Northern Ireland 2010 to 2020 (TSNI)

Tourism NI is taking the lead at a national level with the local authorities and the Causeway Coast and Glens Tourism Area Partnership taking ownership and responsibility at a local level.

The Causeway Coast and Glens Tourism Area Plan was launched by Tourism Minister Arlene Foster on 3 July 2012 and provides the blueprint to engage all stakeholders and industry to drive the tourism experience in the region.

The transition to Signature Destinations in 2012 has provided a new baseline to develop the regional tourism experience including the opening of the new Giant’s Causeway Visitor Experience and the hosting of the Irish Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club.

The Causeway Coast & Glens destination consists of the following 6 council areas: Limavady, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Ballymena, Moyle and Larne.
