By Car
Drive north on Highway 19 from Victoria or Vancouver
to Sayward, the start of the North Island region, a scenic
drive on a modern highway.

By Bus
Scheduled bus services depart daily from all points on Vancouver
Island to the North Island. For additional info check
out the Laidlaw Coach Lines
website. The Greyhound Canada toll-free number is

Ferry
There are several ferry services running from Vancouver,
Seattle and the Gulf Islands. Check the BC Ferries
site for schedules and notices for the mainland ferry runs.

From Port McNeill there
is a Tri-Island Ferry running to Alert Bay and Sointula continuously
from 8:40AM to 9:50PM seven days a week. The terminal
in Port McNeill can be reached by telephone at 250-956-4533.

By Air
Port Hardy is
the closest Commercial Airport providing flights to Vancouver,
Victoria, Nanaimo and many coastal communities. Air Carriers
include Pacific Coastal
Airlines
and Canadian Air.

By Boat
Travel up to the North Island through the lovely Inside
Passage. All of the coastal communities have
marine facilities; check the individual locations for details.
