The Council continues to operate its business support services including free mentoring.

Retail & Town Centre Re-opening Mobilisation Team and Tourism Covid-19 Recovery Team

The Council has set out plans to establish forums to strengthen two of the sectors most heavily impacted by Covid-19. The Retail & Town Centre Re-opening Mobilisation Team and Tourism Covid-19 Recovery Team will focus on collaborative working between local businesses from across the Borough and the Council in an effort to boost the local economy. The OPTIMAL Programme

OPTIMAL is Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s principal business support and growth programme. It provides free, tailored and specialist business support to companies and social enterprises in the Borough.

ASK Programme

The ASK programme provides 1-1 mentoring for new start-up or existing businesses, with a registered business address in the Council area.

LEAN Business Network

The LEAN business network is an exciting business forum designed to help local business people meet and develop their business contacts.

Bid 2 Win – Open Now

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, in partnership with Mid & East Antrim Borough Council and Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, has launched an innovative programme to help local businesses win more business tenders.

Business Start-up Info and Support

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is working together with LEDCOM, Mallusk Enterprise Park and Antrim Enterprise Agency to provide local people with free advice and mentoring to set up in business.

‘Go For It’ - NI Business Start Up

The Go For It Programme provides step by step advice, mentoring and guidance to anyone who is thinking of starting a business, helping clients to produce a bespoke business plan.  The programme is delivered free of charge by your Local Council and is part-funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund.
