Employer Webinar: Hospitality and Tourism Sector

The Department for Communities, the Hospitality and Tourism Skills (HATS) network, Tourism NI and the Springboard Charity jointly hosted a free webinar for the Hospitality and Tourism sector to showcase the recently launched labour market recovery provision.

Find out how your business can benefit from a range of new services including the Jobstart employer incentive scheme and the enhanced Work Experience Programme.

Employers of all sizes, in all sectors, can apply for Jobstart funding to cover wage costs to employ young people for a period of 6 months (or 9 months if applicable) for 25 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage.  Employers will also receive £1,500 towards training, equipment and set up costs.

The Work Experience Programme offers participants the chance to gain employability skills in a work setting with an employer or a voluntary organisation. Employers can receive £250 for providing a placement. An additional £250 is also available to employers who offer a placement to participants who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Our free webinar discussed:

  • Jobstart (overview, how to apply and available funding)
  • Enhanced Work Experience Programme
  • Strategic Employment Service (1-2-1 Recruitment Support to Employers)
  • Sector specific employability training
