Food for thought- Food and Drink for the Future

Food and drink tourism plays a central role to the visitor economy in Northern Ireland.  Food & drink consumption accounts for over 30% of visitor spend and this value continues to grow.  The strength of our food & drink offering has a significant role to play in the tourism industry’s recovery from the impact of Covid-19.

In response to the pandemic, Tourism NI invited you to attend the latest food series webinar.  During the session we heard from a panel of industry experts that helped you understand how you can use this opportunity to leverage the quality of our food and drink to deliver experiences that will appeal to the domestic and RoI segments.

Gained an understanding of what the food consumer wants, through emerging trends and behaviours and sustain the resurgence of supporting local through collaborations that bring benefits to the wider industry.

We were joined on the day by the following panellists:

  • Gary Quate, Experience Development Officer, Food & Drink, Tourism NI
  • Catherine Toolan, Managing Director, Guinness Storehouse
  • Ryan Crown & Ema O’Kane, Hill Street Hatch
  • Terry Kelly, Sales and Marketing Manager, Killeavy Castle Estate.
  • Michele Shirlow, Chief Executive, Food NI/ Taste of Ulster
