Great Lighthouses of Ireland Workshop
Join us to harness the appeal of Blackhead Lighthouse for the benefit of our destination and community.
This workshop is an opportunity for local tourism and community visitor experience providers to come together, share their unique offerings, and collaborate on ways to develop experiences and attract visitors to our area. Whether you’re involved in outdoor activities, tourism services, cultural, creative or heritage experiences, your contribution is important and valued.
Recent international research has highlighted the potential of our Northern Ireland lighthouses to act as beacons, showcasing our coastal destinations and supporting the creation of a world-class tourism offering.
Mid and East Antrim Council welcome this opportunity and would like to invite you to a collaborative workshop. This event, facilitated by Great Lighthouses of Ireland in partnership with Tourism Northern Ireland, will be held at Whitehead Community Hall on Wednesday, 28th February next.
The workshop will run from 10:30am to 1.30pm and is designed to explore practical ways to leverage this potential. The focus of our discussion will be the development of inspiring and memorable visitor experiences in and around Blackhead Lighthouse, as well as the exploration of shared itineraries and experiences linked to its history, maritime culture and nature. We believe that your expertise and insights will be invaluable in this endeavour.
Following light refreshments, there will be an opportunity to visit and explore Blackhead Lighthouse and its unique accommodation experience from 1:30 to 3:00 pm onsite. We look forward to your participation in this collaborative effort to enhance all that is special and unique in our destination.
Please register your interest and confirm your attendance with Kathryn.orr@midandeastantrim.gov.uk by Monday 26th February.
