Introduction to Social Media
This workshop will be facilitated by Katie Matthews-Furphy, Founder of The Mind Tribe UK on behalf of Belfast City Council, as part of the newly developed Inclusive Enterprise Pathway programme.
This free workshop will explore the various reasons why businesses use social media, the benefits and drawbacks for utilising social media for business use, as well as exploring current social media trends. Participants will also learn the importance of businesses protecting themselves online and the ways in which they can ensure this happens effectively.
This 60 minute workshop will be delivered virtually via Zoom.
To take part in this workshop, individuals must:
- Live in Belfast City Council Area (Northern Ireland)
- be aged 18 years old or over
We particularly encourage individuals from groups which are historically under-represented, under-supported and under-funded in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship including:
- individuals who identify as Women or Non-Binary
- individuals who experience Disability
- individuals from Ethnic Minority/Global majority communities/backgrounds
- individuals who are Neurodivergent
What would be helpful to have?
- Basic conversational and written English Language skills
- Access to a digital device with internet access
- Willingness to learn
What do you NOT need?
- Any qualifications
- Any financial investment
- A business idea
