Tourism NI hosts ‘Embrace a Giant Taste of October’ launch event

The event, which took place at Titanic Distillers, marked the launch of Tourism NI’s ‘Embrace a Giant Taste of October’ campaign - a month-long programme showcasing the region’s distillery-led and food and drink experiences.

Throughout the month, visitors can enjoy seasonal supper clubs, distillery after dark experiences with food pairings, and will be able to explore a packed programme of events across the month of October.

Last night’s event saw members of the media join representatives from Tourism NI for a twilight tour of the distillery, followed by an intimate supper club experience.

Award-winning chef Gareth Crawford from Saison Dining crafted a menu that showcased the best of seasonal ingredients and local produce.

Those who attended the event were welcomed by Gary Quate, Food and Drink Tourism Manager at Tourism NI.

During October, twelve distilleries, all of which are members of Tourism Northern Ireland’s NI Spirits Trail and Distillery Passport, will each host an event in collaboration with chefs and local food producers, in addition to a wide range of other foodie-led events and experiences taking place across the region.

The initiative, which is being supported by Tourism NI in partnership with Food NI, aims to showcase the distinctiveness of the region’s world-class, spirit-led experiences by delivering innovative, newly crafted offerings which inspire visitors to travel, book and enjoy all that the north’s distilleries have to offer.

The distilleries taking part in `Embrace A Giant Taste of October’ include Belfast-based Titanic Distillers and McConnell’s Distillery, as well as Copeland Distillery, Rademon Estate Distillery, Hinch Distillery, Killowen Distillery and Echlinville Distillery, all in Co Down.

Also taking part is Old Bushmills Distillery in Co Antrim, The Boatyard Distillery in Co Fermanagh, Wild Atlantic Distillery and Woodlab Distillery, both in Co Tyrone, and the Walled City Brewery in Derry.
