Crumlin Road Gaol Opens New Visitor Experience

Crumlin Road Gaol has today officially opening its new covid compliant visitor experience.

Attending the launch at the five-star attraction were Lesley Ann O’Donnell, Head of Programmes at Tourism NI and Pauline Morgan from Department of Infrastructure. They were welcomed to the Gaol by Phelim Devlin, Managing Director, and received a tour of the new experience.

Speaking afterwards Phelim Devlin said “I am delighted to have Lesley Ann and Pauline here today to share this occasion with us. The past eighteen months have been challenging but with the funding, support and advice from Tourism NI we were able to create this new experience which has given Crumlin Road Gaol a different dimension and brought the Victorian Prison into the 21st Century.”

He added “I would encourage everyone to visit the Crumlin Road Gaol for a tour even if you have attended before. It is both captivating and educational with something for all ages to enjoy. We have new stories and new characters to meet which will keep you entertained for hours.”

Lesley Ann commented “We are delighted to be a part of this new experience at Crumlin Road Gaol which is safe to reopen under the We’re Good to Go charter mark. This will provide reassurance to visitors and build on consumer confidence which will be a critical part of driving demand. As we continue to guide the tourism industry through recovery, I have no doubt that Crumlin Road Gaol will continue to play an important role in attracting visitors to Belfast.”
