New Appointments to Tourism NI’s Senior Team

David Roberts joined the organisation on 1st July as Strategic Development Director following eight years in the Strategy Group at Invest NI. David recently led the Get Fit organisational improvement initiative at Invest NI, working closely with the executive leadership team and board. He also led much of Invest NI’s work on Brexit including overseeing a package of support for businesses to help prepare for the new trading environment. 

David was also previously Invest NI's Head of Economics, responsible for a wide range of economic advice, appraisal and evaluation projects. Prior to joining Invest NI David worked as a consultant and was previously Associate Director at consultants Ekosgen leading assignments for public, private and third sector clients across the UK and Ireland.

Lesley Ann O’Donnell commenced her role as Head of Programmes with Tourism NI in May. Lesley Ann joined Tourism NI in 2014 and held the post of Project Manager for The 148^th Open at Royal Portrush working closely with The R&A and multi-agency partners. Prior to joining Tourism NI in 2014, Lesley Ann worked for an advertising and design agency delivering strategic integrated marketing solutions with a particular focus on brand strategy.

Ciaran Doherty joined Tourism NI in June as Head of Regions. Prior to joining Tourism NI Ciaran spent nineteen years with Tourism Ireland and his most recent role focused on stakeholder engagement in Northern Ireland. Ciaran previously held responsibilities for business partnerships, access development, website and social media strategy.

Commenting on the recent appointments Tourism NI Chief Executive John McGrillen said;
