The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open returns to Northern Ireland

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open will be played in Northern Ireland for the fourth time since 2012, when Galgorm Castle Golf Club hosts this year’s tournament from 24th- 27th September 2020.

In a historic moment for Galgorm, it will be the first time the Ballymena venue has hosted the island of Ireland’s national Open. Galgorm Castle’s parkland Championship Course is nestled in the heart of the 220-acre Galgorm Castle Estate, part of Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort, Northern Ireland’s premier luxury hotel and spa destination.

Northern Ireland saw a remarkable year for golf in 2019, with the return of The Open to Royal Portrush Golf Club. Where Shane Lowry lifted the Claret Jug following a six-stroke win over England’s Tommy Fleetwood. Shane Lowry will return to Northern Ireland to tee it up at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open for the first time since his career-defining Championship triumph, as he plays at Galgorm Castle Golf Club for this highly anticipated tournament.

This will be an exciting opportunity for us to showcase Northern Ireland to a wide audience with vast broadcasting opportunities, and we welcome the opportunity to display our destination that is truly Made for Golf to an extensive reach.

Full broadcasting details for the event will be updated on our Discover NI website and on our social channels whenever they are confirmed.
