Tourism NI hosts first Experience Development Roadshow

The event at the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen was the first in a series of four roadshows taking place across Northern Ireland this autumn.

The gathering was of particular interest to those who are developing saleable, bookable visitor experiences within the context of the destination brand Northern Ireland - Embrace a Giant Spirit.

Jessica Hoyle, Experience Development Manager at Tourism NI, opened the event by sharing insights into the evolution of the Embrace a Giant Spirit brand and opportunities for tourism businesses to grow their visitor experiences through Tourism NI’s framework.

She shared key information on priorities for product development, structured around three thematic areas of culture and heritage, food & drink and landscapes & outdoors.

Ciaran Doherty, Head of Regions & Investment at Tourism NI, also presented an overview of the Tourism NI Product Review, which sets a framework for future tourism capital investment in Northern Ireland.

Attendees heard about key developments and priorities for Tourism NI as it continues to strengthen Northern Ireland as an internationally compelling tourism destination.

Following the presentations, attendees had the opportunity to network with other tourism businesses and Tourism NI teams on further opportunities for collaboration and development.

Jessica Hoyle said: “It was fantastic to kick-off our series of four Experience Development Roadshows in Fermanagh, giving Tourism NI the opportunity to engage in-person with a wide range of industry, and share key information to support them in their business development and growth.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with the tourism industry through opportunities shared today such as the Experience Development Framework, Thematic Development Programmes and the Tourism NI Product Review.”

The next Experience Development Roadshow will take place at the HMS Caroline in Belfast on Wednesday, October 11.

This will be followed by roadshows at the Canal Court Hotel in Newry on Monday, October 16 and the Everglades Hotel in Derry~Londonderry on October 23.
