Tourism NI awards four stars to Portrush hotel combining history and modern style
A Portrush hotel carefully restored to preserve its past, while embracing modern design, has been awarded four stars by Tourism Northern Ireland.

Located on Main Street in the heart of the seaside town, The Marcus Portrush received the four star grade following an assessment by the Tourism NI Quality Grading Scheme.
It was found that every detail at the original Victorian property has been considered to honour its past while embracing a bold new future.
The assessment found the 80 bedrooms to be “stylish and excellent in terms of the quality of finish and furnishing” offering “superb levels of guest comfort”.
Staff at the hotel, which features an Asian Fusion Restaurant, were found to be “friendly and polite”.
The Marcus Portrush is the first Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Northern Ireland.
David Roberts, Director of Strategic Development at Tourism NI, said: “This is a well-deserved four-star grade for The Marcus Portrush and testament to the significant investment made in the property.
“It is wonderful to see the success that has been achieved in maintaining the original features of the Victorian building, which have been complemented by the introduction of modern touches.
“It is clear the hotel provides a high standard of facilities and service to guests. I have no doubt that it will add to and enhance the growing offer to visitors to the North Coast.”
Heather Stewart, General Manager of The Marcus Portrush said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a four-star grading from Tourism NI at The Marcus Portrush.
“Honouring the history of the property is fundamental for us, and being able to continue its story with four stars makes us incredibly proud.
“We have appreciated the support and guidance of Tourism NI whilst bringing The Marcus Hotel to life and look forward to continuing this valuable relationship.”
