Conditions of Financial Support

Organisers must explain why public sector support for the project is required.

The organiser should justify in their proposal that the sponsorship amount requested is proper and proportionate and that activities are not being double funded by other public bodies.  If other public bodies are involved in opportunities these will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The organiser should note that any retrospective activity i.e., any activity undertaken before sponsorship is approved will not be considered eligible for Tourism NI’s financial support.

Tourism NI will consider staged payments at agreed key milestones, on a case-by-case basis, for longer term partnerships or programmes.

Tourism NI reserves the right to withhold up to 25% of sponsorship funding if the Post Project Evaluation Report indicates that the project failed to meet all the objectives set out in the sponsorship application.

The methodology for assessing the project’s success (Post Project Evaluation) must be agreed with TNI before any funding is approved.

By submitting a sponsorship application, organisers are agreeing to complete a Post Project Evaluation (PPE). Tourism NI will contact you re the PPE in due course.

Failure to complete a Post Project Evaluation will be taken into consideration when considering any future sponsorship requests.

Sponsorship payment will not be made in full until a completed Post Project Evaluation has been submitted to Tourism NI.

NB - The implications of VAT will be assessed on an individual basis depending on the agreement in place and discussed with TNI’s Finance team.

Post Project Success and Impact Assessment

On completion of the project the organiser must submit a Post Project Evaluation report.  The report must demonstrate the success and impact of the project against the criteria detailed above and agreed with Tourism NI when the sponsorship was approved. The report must include evidence of all agreed promotional activity, such as advertising, branding, attendee lists for events and evidence of PR.
