Reimagining Events - Agile Planning Workshop

Planning agile events and new forms of risk management.

The third workshop explored new models of risk planning and management during and post-pandemic, exploring how we can make our events agile and resilient.

During the interactive workshop, we heard from Alin Vaida, who programmed the largest Covid-safe festival in Europe last year. The annual festival doesn't just promote music, but also has an active role in the community, promoting public space, helping segregated communities and promoting active community involvement. He is the executive Director at Fapte which runs cultural and educational events for community development.

We also heard from Sarah McBriar, who founded and pioneered AVA, an Audio-Visual Arts movement. AVA produces five festivals & conferences in Belfast, four in London, and over 45 satellite events across Manchester, Glasgow, Mumbai, Amsterdam and Dublin. She is known for her innovative and bold approach to projects and productions, and her leadership has gained the prestigious Innovate UK award.

The speakers shared their experiences and knowledge in planning large-scale events in a time of constant fluctuation and share new tools for risk management developed over the past years for use across agile event delivery.
